67th Annual Open Juried Show

The Annual NJWCS Member’s Meeting and Luncheon was held this year at the Sheraton Hotel in Eatontown, NJ. on Sunday, May 3rd. We were minutes away from where our Members Show reception was to follow at the Guild of Creative Art in Shrewsbury. With everybody enjoying their choice of entrée,
it was a great occassion to catch up with old friends and make new ones. Thank you to Margaret Crawford, Muriel Rogers and all who helped in making this popular event possible, it was a great success.
At the Executive Board meeting on April 5th, four people were elected full member status with the New Jersey Water Color Society. This year’s newly elected members were; Edward Baumlin, Maryann Burton, Angelito L. David and Allen Taylor. I would like to extend my congratulations to all and to urge that their participation benefits them and our terriffic organization in making it function. I’m also very pleased to have Donna Roettger now as our 2nd Vice President and Jinnie May our Recording Secretary.
The Annual Associate Show will be held at the Bernardsville Library from
June 1st – June 30th. We are grateful to Medy Bozkurtian for her efforts bringing this together. Opening reception will be held June 7th, 2:00 – 4:00. This is a popular venue to exhibit and I encourage all our associates to enter.
This year’s Annual Elected Members Show was held again at the Guild of Creative Art in Shrewsbury, NJ. May 2nd – May 28th. The reception took place on May 3rd following our Annual Meeting and Luncheon. Best in Show went to James Toogood with all the award winners shown in our Spring / Summer 2009 newsletter. It was great to see such a good turnout. Thank you also Ann Taylor, Donna Roettger, Susanna Anastasia, Joan McKinney, Mikkey Tarantino, Allen Taylor and the Art Guild’s staff for help in making this exhibit so well received.
The 67th Open Juried show will be back to the Monmouth Museum this year.
Receiving is September 12th with the show opening September 20th until
November 1st. More information can be found on the exhibition page. You are
encouraged to fill out the Volunteer Helper form and return it to show chairperson Ann Taylor. Your participation greatly helps the society’s Open
Show run smoothly.
